Suikerkaai 1/A, 1500 Halle
At the crossroads of tradition and comfort, Les Eleveurs stands tall as one of Halle’s most iconic culinary addresses. Established in 1897, this family-run hotel and restaurant continues to welcome travellers and locals alike with warm hospitality, rich flavours, and a timeless charm that transcends generations.
The setting
Housed in a beautifully preserved historic building, Les Eleveurs offers a warm and elegant interior that blends classic features with subtle modern touches. The ambiance is calm and refined – ideal for a romantic dinner, business lunch, or a relaxing weekend escape.
The taste
Choosing à la carte, I went for a perfectly cooked piece of meat – tender, flavourful, and beautifully plated. The standout moment? A cherry-based dessert made with Boon Kriek beer – a harmonious blend of sweet, sour, and nostalgic. Seasonal menus for lunch and dinner promise just as much to explore.
The experience
From the moment you walk in, the team makes you feel welcome. Service is courteous and well-paced, striking that fine balance between formality and warmth. The wine list deserves praise too – extensive, well-curated, and thoughtfully paired to the dishes.
The verdict: 4 out of 5 spoons (🍴🍴🍴🍴)
“Les Eleveurs offers a journey through taste and time – with every detail in place for a memorable meal.”
Atmosphere: Classic elegance in a historic setting
Dishes: Traditional meets refined with local flair

Final bite: Les Eleveurs is more than a restaurant – it’s a piece of Halle’s history, served with flavour, finesse, and heartfelt service. Whether you’re a visitor or a regular, this is the kind of place that stays with you.
Let’s taste!
