Taste and View
Taste and View is where photography, cities and gastronomy meet.
Created by Belgian photographer Thierry Vuchelen, the project is a personal exploration of urban life, street photography and the places where people come together to enjoy food, coffee and atmosphere.
Through images and stories, Taste and View captures the beauty of everyday moments — from the rhythm of city streets to the quiet charm of cafés and restaurants discovered along the way.
The Beginning
Thierry is, above all, a dreamer.
Born in Halle and raised in Wolvertem, he grew up within reach of Brussels — a city that would later become both his playground and his greatest source of inspiration. Today he lives in Denderleeuw, yet Brussels remains the place where his photographic eye feels most at home.
His journey into photography began in an unexpected place: the train station of Leuven. During long moments of waiting for his friend Sven, Thierry started capturing small fragments of everyday life with his iPhone. What began as simple snapshots soon turned into something more meaningful.
Not long after, he picked up a Nikon camera — and the way he looked at the world began to change.
Seeing the City Differently
Photography quickly became a way of wandering, observing and rediscovering the city.
Thierry is particularly drawn to street photography, where fleeting moments unfold between architecture, light and human movement. Often working in black and white, he focuses on contrast, geometry and atmosphere — stripping scenes down to their essential elements.
Walking through the city with a camera often becomes a quiet search for a perfect frame. A reflection in a window, the rhythm of staircases, silhouettes crossing a street, or the subtle beauty of overlooked urban details.
The city reveals itself slowly to those who take the time to look.
Brussels and Beyond
Brussels is Thierry’s creative home — vibrant, diverse and constantly evolving. Its streets, stations and neighbourhoods offer an endless source of inspiration.
Yet every city tells its own story.
From the elegance of Paris to the unique character of smaller streets and neighbourhoods, Thierry approaches each place with curiosity and openness. Each walk becomes an opportunity to discover something new.

Alongside photography, Thierry has always been passionate about discovering restaurants, cafés and places where atmosphere and flavour come together.
When creating his first website, bringing these two passions together felt natural. With the evolution of that platform, Taste and View was born — a space where photography, cities and gastronomy meet.
Here, visual storytelling and culinary exploration blend into one experience: capturing not only the look of a place, but also its spirit.
