The Beauty of Asking

Not every photo walk needs to last for hours. Sometimes a short stroll through the city is enough to collect a handful of moments that make you stop, smile, and raise your camera.

What connected these photos wasn’t a theme, a location, or even the light. It was people.

A lively crowd gathered in front of a grand building, strangers sharing the same moment. A giant floating umbrella drifting through a busy street, turning an ordinary scene into something magical. And a chef behind a shop window, quietly watching the world pass by while preparing meals for the day.

Street photography is often about observation, but sometimes it is also about connection. One of the most rewarding moments is when you see a beautiful scene, approach someone, and ask, “May I take your picture?” When the answer is yes, something changes. The photograph becomes more than an image. It becomes a shared moment between two strangers.

These photos remind me that great photography is not always about travelling far or chasing spectacular locations. Sometimes all it takes is a short walk, an open mind, and the courage to start a conversation.
